Jam Fest Top Players

By M.Solomon -6/3/09

The 1st Annual Michigan Lady Ballers Jam Fest was huge success. The competition and the facilities was great and the games were fantastic. Here is a summary of some of the Top Players that was at the event....

Desyree Thomas  (2010)  Common Bond (Pictured)
Thomas was the best Michigan player at the event this weekend. She is cat quick, can score, pass and defend. Her 35 point performance against CBC Next Level showed me why the college coaches have been filling up her mailbox. She has the skills and the ability to be a Top 10 player in her class. She is that Good.

Crystal Bradford  (2011)  Top Ten
CB23 is the real deal. Bradford is a big athletic wing, who can do so many different things on both ends of the court. Her intensity is great and when she wants to be, she can be a lockdown defender. If Bradford improves her ballhandling and jumpshot, she will be a Top 25 nationally rank player.

Asia Boyd  (2011)  Team Detroit
Boyd played mostly the point guard position this past weekend and she looked pretty good. She was at her best when she was attacking the basket and finishing strong. If Boyd is going to continue to run the point this summer, she must do a better job of getting her teammates more involved.

Maya Richmond  (2011)  Michigan Supreme
Richmond is an athletic power forward who has good footwork and hands. She can score from either block with her soft touch and is a good rebounder. If Richmond can extend her shooting range to 15 feet, she will be a solid prospect.

Aja Meeks  (2011)  Michigan Crossover
At 6'3 Meeks is a emerging post player. Meeks has good athleticism and is a solid rebounder and shot blocker.

Taylor Gleason  (2013)  Michigan Fire
Only an 8th grader, playing in the 16U division. Gleason held her own, she is a deadly shooter, who is not afraid to let it fly. She will be one of the top players in her class.

Delniquia Bellamy  (2010)  Michigan Crossover
Bellamy is a lock down defender and makes her teammates follow her lead. She plays the game hard on both ends of the floor.

Kyra Littlejohn  (2011)  Michigan Monarchs
Littlejohn finally showed people what she can really can do. She handled the ball well this weekend, was knocking down the open jumper and played solid defense in leading the Monarchs to the 15U Championship.

Ondrea Hughes  (2010)  Michigan Supreme
Hughes is one of the most athletic players in the state. She has a brilliant first step and can finish very well in the open court. If  she realized her full potential, Hughes could be a Top 5 player in the state.

Shareta Brown  (2011)  Michigan Fire
The lefty post, could be the most physical player in her class. Brown uses her size and strength to power herself to the basket. She needs to get better at finishing with her right hand and playing more consitent all the time. If she improves in those categories, Brown could be major impact player.

Grand Rapids Storm 16U
This team is young, but they made it to the Semi-finals at the event. They are a very solid and well coach team that will be a force on the AAU scene in the coming years.

I want to Thank everyone that attended the Lady Ballers Jam Fest and I hope to see everyone back next year...

Coming later, the Top 5 Shooters at the Lady Ballers Jam Fest.... Stay Tuned..
